Create a Custom Journey for Specific URLs

Custom journeys let you tailor the chatbot’s greeting and messages for specific pages.

Custom Journey options

  • Can: Customize the welcome message, default chat greeting, greeting buttons, and fallback message.

  • Cannot: Change the bot’s image or name based on the page—it applies site-wide only.

Set up a Custom Journey

  1. In the left sidebar, click the Bots tab & select the chatbot you'd like to edit
  2. At the top, open the Configuration tab
  3. At the bottom of the list, select Custom Journey
  4. Update applicable fields & click the green Save button in the upper right corner

Field details

  • Display on URL(s): This field specifies what page the journey will go live on once the customer journey is saved. If you want to create your custom journey & save launch for a future date, leave this field blank.
  • Display on #hash: To preview a saved journey in your Test Sandbox, enter a word or phrase in the #hash field.
    • For example, the hash for a billing page could be something like #BillingPage. Then when opening the Test Sandbox from the button at the top right, paste the url hash at the end of the url (example in screenshot below) and press enter/return on your keyboard.
