Get clarity on the two types of document credits—SEO and Rank-Ready—and how each one works.
When using Describly to generate optimized content, you’ll encounter two different types of document credits. Each serves a different purpose depending on the workflow you're using:
In this article
Content Project Credits
Content Project Credits are used when you create a document via the Start Content Project workflow—which includes processing a search query and running a SERP (search engine results page) analysis.
-
Starter plan includes 15 Content Project credits per month
-
Professional plan includes 75 Content Project credits per month
-
Credits reset monthly on the 1st of each month at 12:00 AM UTC
-
These credits do not roll over
Rank-Ready Document Credits
Rank-ready credits are used only when you create content using the Generate Content workflow—a more structured experience designed to produce fully optimized, publish-ready documents.
-
Starter plan includes 2 Rank Ready credits per month
- Professional plan includes 10 Rank Ready credits per month
Outside of the plan allotments, Rank Ready credits are pay-as-you-go. Purchase only what you need & receive a discount when you buy in bulk. Unused credits roll over month to month.
How do I purchase Rank Ready credits? In the upper left corner, click your name > Settings > AI Document Credits.
How to Check Your Usage
To see how many credits you've used for the month:
Go to your Settings → Click on the Usage tab
You'll see a breakdown of:
-
Content Project credits used and remaining
-
Rank-ready credits used and remaining
Tip: If you’re running low on either credit type, consider upgrading to a larger plan or purchasing pay-as-you-go credits to stay productive without interruption.
