Get clarity on the two types of document credits—SEO and Rank-Ready—and how each one works.
When using Describly to generate optimized content, you’ll encounter two different types of document credits. Each serves a different purpose depending on the workflow you're using:
SEO Document Credits
SEO document credits are used when you create a document via the SEO Workflow, which includes processing a search query and running a SERP (search engine results page) analysis.
-
Starter plan includes 15 SEO document credits per month
-
Professional plan includes 75 SEO document credits per month
-
SEO document credits reset monthly on the 1st of each month at 12:00 AM UTC
-
These credits do not roll over
Rank-Ready Document Credits
Rank-ready credits are used only when you create content using the Rank-Ready Workflow—a more structured experience designed to produce fully optimized, publish-ready documents.
-
No plan includes rank-ready credits by default
-
You can get them in two ways:
-
Pro Add-on: Get 30 rank-ready credits per month (resets monthly on the 1st at 12:00 AM UTC)
-
Pay-as-you-go: Buy only what you need; unused credits roll over month to month
-
SEO document credits and rank-ready credits are completely separate. One cannot be used in place of the other.
How to Check Your Usage
To see how many credits you've used for the month:
Go to your Settings → Click on the Usage tab
You'll see a breakdown of:
-
SEO document credits used and remaining
-
Rank-ready credits used and remaining (if applicable)
Tip: If you’re running low on either credit type, consider upgrading to a larger plan—or explore our add-ons and pay-as-you-go options to stay productive without interruption.
