What Are Reference Documents
Reference Documents are your team’s centralized space for storing key materials that guide content creation. Instead of switching between platforms or hunting down assets, you can keep everything in one place inside Frase—and let Frase’s AI use it to inform your work.
Use Reference Documents to upload brand guidelines, internal research, product specifications, and more. Frase’s AI will reference these documents when generating content, so your outputs are aligned with your source material.
Once uploaded, documents are:
-
Fully searchable
-
Editable within Frase
-
Organized into folders
-
Controlled by visibility settings
⚠️ Permissions required: Only users with editor access can upload or edit Reference Documents.
Supported File Types and Word Limits
You can upload documents in the following formats:
-
PDF
-
DOCX
-
TXT
-
CSV
You can also create a Reference Document directly inside Frase.
🧠 Each uploaded document can contain up to 6,000 words. If your source exceeds that, consider breaking it into multiple files.
Upload Limits by Plan
Your subscription plan determines how many Reference Documents you can upload:
Plan | Upload Limit |
---|---|
Basic | 3 documents |
Team | 15 documents |
Enterprise | Custom (contact support) |
🔄 You can update or replace documents at any time to ensure your content stays grounded in current information.
