How many results should SERP research return?

When you run SERP Research, you can expect roughly 15–20 sources in most cases. That’s the target range Frase was designed to analyze.

If you see fewer results than that, it’s usually expected — not an error.

Why the number can vary

SERP Research automatically filters out pages that aren’t useful for analysis, including:

  • PDFs
  • LinkedIn posts
  • Pages with very little readable content
  • Other non-HTML or low-quality results

If the top results for your query fall into these categories, Frase may only return 5–10 usable sources. This is normal and simply reflects the quality of what’s available for that keyword.

⚠️ If you’re consistently getting fewer than 5 results for common, high-volume keywords, reach out to us — that might warrant a closer look. Otherwise, variation in source count is expected behavior.
